Optoelectronics Undergraduate Research Program is mainly aimed at teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and cultivating academic masters and industrial talents in optoelectronics technology. By condensing the teaching and scientific research advantages of the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, especially the Institute of Information Optoelectronics, it guides students to carry out scientific research training and industrial practice in the field of optoelectronics. The project arranges one-to-one academic tutors and corresponding research groups for each student to guide them to carry out scientific research ability training and shape academic spirit. The program is targeting to implement a personalized training plan to prepare for the graduate research and explore the "4+4" educational system model. Students are recommended to go to famous overseas universities for study and exchange to expand their international horizons. The project also conducts academic summer camps, optoelectronics knowledge contests, shared academic lectures, and online courses with colleges and universities such as Peking University, Fudan University, and Nanjing University, and promotes the establishment of a university alliance for optoelectronic talent training. Since the launch of the first Individualized Teaching Program, the optoelectronics class has gone to Huawei, Yijing Technology, BOE, and other enterprises to carry out the practice, and invited domestic and foreign scholars and industrial talents to visit and exchange. Professors from the Institute of Information Optoelectronics have set up seminars for freshmen to help students understand the construction of the department and the frontiers of scientific research and guide students to engage in academic interests in optoelectronics research.
