Our Mission

Welcome to the webpage of the Tsinghua Photonic Computing and Integration (THPCI) Lab. We use photons as the information carrier and computing medium to develop photonic computing systems with extremely high performance in computing speed and energy efficiency. These light-based computing machines and silicon photonic chips are designed to address critical applications that are in demand for computational resources, e.g., artificial intelligence, massive data processing, and high-throughput communication. At the intersection of optics, electronics, applied mathematics, machine learning, nanophotonics, and computer vision, we adopt the interdisciplinary research principle to address the fundamental scientific questions towards the goal by innovating novel models and algorithms, complex architectures and designs, as well as advanced optoelectronic devices and integration methods.
